Ingredients

1 cup rice I used Basmati, but you can use any you like
1/2 cup pigeon peas split, toor dal
1/2 coconut a fresh, grated or chopped
4 tbsps masala MTR’s Sambar
1 tbsp tamarind paste or a lemon-sized ball of tamarind soaked in 1/4 cup of warm water and strained
1 jaggery lemon-sized ball of
1/2 cup vegetables assorted, seasonal, cut into cubes, I used ash gourd, pumpkin, drumsticks, carrots, eggplants, onions, and tomatoes
2/3 clove garlic crushed and roughly chopped
4 red chili peppers dried, torn into halves
2 sprigs curry leaves torn
1/2 tsp mustard seeds
1/4 tsp asafetida
2 tbsps vegetables /olive oil
1 tbsp ghee
salt to taste
