Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Place salmon in an ungreased baking dish and salt and pepper to taste. Top each salmon patty with a sprig of fresh dill and set aside.
In a food processor, add basil and garlic and pulse until chopped. Add lemon juice and salt and continue to pulse until well combined. Add butter and process until smooth and creamy.
Use a small melon baller, if desired, and place a heaping scoop of basil pesto on top of the dill on each salmon patty
Bake for 25-30 minutes or to an internal temperature of 145 degrees F. Serve while warm
