Ingredients

2 cups lentils masoor, washed well, these are little orange lentils
4 cups water
1/2 in cinnamon sticks small
4 cups fresh tomatoes chopped, ripe
1 tbsp cumin seed
1/2 tbsp mustard seeds
15 curry leaves, optional
crushed red pepper flakes /red chili powder to taste
1 onion medium, diced
2 green chilies sliced, I used serranos, you can use jalapenos
3 cloves garlic finely minced or grated
1 tbsp fresh ginger grated
salt to taste
1/2 cup coconut milk optional I cooked mine without any milk, it was still creamy.
